Intel's AI datacenter team is seeking a highly motivated hands-on Datacenter System Engineer. The candidate will work in a multi disciplined team to define datacenter implementations at scale for production AI/ML systems.

As a Datacenter Engineer your role will perform the following:

  • Take datacenter architectures and developing implementations from rack elevations and cabling cut sheets.
  • Work with domain specialist in networking and contractors to build, validate and profile the datacenter.

The ideal candidate will have the following skills in addition to the qualifications listed below:

  • Passion about technology.
  • Broad, system-level understanding of data center systems, networking, Linux kernel, I/O technology, use of accelerators in the data center.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in networking, storage, distributed systems, datacenter design, large datacenter networks, and ethernet switch fabrics is required.
  • Understanding of Linux architecture Kernel, user space, and virtualization
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making

Qualifications:

You must possess the minimum requirements noted below to be initially considered for this position. Additional preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and 6+ years of experience or
  • Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field and 4+ years of experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working with system architecture, performance and Networking experience including developing and deploying distributed solutions.
  • 5+ years of experience with performance tools, FIO
  • 5+ years of experience with Xeon Servers
  • 4+ years of experience with Storage
  • 4+ years of experience with high-speed cables and optics
  • 4+ years of experience with IP networks
  • 4+ years of Experience in C, C++, Python and scripting
  • 4+ years of Experience with TCO analysis in datacenters

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in datacenter efficiency and TCO analysis is also highly desired.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in

US, California:$180,070.00-$270,050.00

Salary range dependent on a number of factors including location and experience.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
