This role involves responsibility for managing day to day accounting and compliance activities of the Netherlands' Legal entities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing US GAAP accounting and the local reporting impacts, including delivery of local GAAP financials, audit coordination, and managing cross-functional relationships with service centres, different Finance groups, EY and Global accounting group.
This role will report to the Central Europe Accounting manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Day-to-day accounting of Netherlands Legal Entities, maintaining and analyzing the ledger accounts and developing financial statements and reports
Netherlands and US GAAP accounting oversight including managing and facilitating the relationship with the various Center Of Excellence (COE) teams and Corp. Accounting groups
The role covers local Statutory and Regulatory Compliance together with supporting US GAAP accounting
Ensuring the accurate compilation, measurement, analysis and reporting of accounting data
Develops and maintains the policies that govern the Company's compliance and other reporting processes
Internal and external stakeholders management and driving requirements with external auditors and relevant government authorities
Responsibility for business partnering with other business groups - Treasury, Tax, Ops Finance to understand the business roadmap, identify the technical accounting issues and provide accounting recommendations
Driving key global accounting initiatives as part of a wider International Accounting organization
Linking and partnering locally with Site Management
Qualifications:
University Degree in Accounting; a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or equivalent professional qualifications are a strong advantage
5+ years of broad Finance experience with a focus on Accounting
Strong technical accounting knowledge and application of Netherlands Statutory Accounting GAAP, US GAAP and regulatory principles
Experience in support of external audits
Self-learner with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to research accounting issues and translate them into recommendations
Ability to work autonomously
Strong communication skills and ability to partner with senior management (we work in English)
Proven ability to manage project deliverables through ambiguous and complex business environments
