In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and compliance activities for the Irish Research and Development (RND) entity. You will be managing US GAAP accounting and the local reporting impacts, including delivery of IFRS financials, audit co-ordination, and managing the cross-functional relationships with service centres.
Owing to Intel's Matrix reporting structure, the role will also be exposed to pan-EMEA initiatives including close and audit support of the UK super-distribution entity and other group-level projects as Intel continues its transformation journey. This role will have the opportunity for hybrid working and will be reporting to a remote manager based in the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Statutory reporting for Intel Ireland's RND entity:
Local statutory financials delivery - including managing the relationship with external auditors on the statutory accounts, managing expectations and the detailed audit process
External RND Tax credit coordination and support
Local Trade and other compliance support as needed
US GAAP accounting oversight - Managing and facilitating the relationship with the various Center Of Excellence (COE) teams who perform a lot of the day-to-day transactional activities
Accounting of critical technical areas under Local GAAP, e.g. IFRS 16 embedded lease treatments
Business partnering with other business groups e.g. Treasury, Tax, and Operations to understand the business roadmap, any emerging new businesses and identify the technical accounting issues and provide accounting recommendations to the accounting issues; ad hoc business support i.e. RND Grant claims
Driving key Global and International accounting initiatives as part of a wider International Accounting organization
- Support the UK accounting team with the annual statutory audit testing and FRS 101 financials preparation plus quarterly close and other duties as needed
- Ad hoc support of broader initiatives within the International Accounting organization as required
Qualifications:
Mandatory Requirements:
A qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a minimum of 3 years' experience
Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS
You work both autonomously and collaboratively within a matrix organization
Ability to manage project deliverables through ambiguous and complex business environments; effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
Ability to solve complex business problems and drive effective process improvement across functions
Fluency in English - along with clear communication skills both written and verbal at all levels and especially with senior management
Nice to have:
Ability to research accounting issues and translate into recommendations
Experience and working knowledge of FRS 101 UK / Ireland
Demonstrable business partnering and influencing skills
