We drive new products and technologies from high-end co-processors for supercomputers to low-energy systems for datacenters, as well as solutions for cloud and big data through a broad portfolio of CPU's, FPGAs, GPUs, ASICs, and AI accelerators.

Our Test Solutions Development Team, within the Platform Engineering Development Group in DPEA Engineering and Operations; engineers, delivers, and supports world-class platform and component building blocks, aligned to DCAI's roadmap and strategies. We define and execute the test life cycle from up front pathfinding and test module development, through deployment and sustaining.

As Test Development Engineer, this role performs research, design, and development of test equipment software, library, program flow, fixture, hardware, probing, module and/or tester for main and/or peripheral printed boards assembly (PBA).
Responsibilities include technology pathfinding, architecture development, design material gathering, development of test strategy, device library, determining test parameters, specify test to be performed, conducting design review, designing test/fixture, performing fixture acceptance, debugging test/fixture, resolving design and implementation issues, performs testability and fault coverage analysis, meeting production quality and reliability requirement, and updating test/fixture as needed through product life cycle. Plans and schedules daily tasks, uses judgment on a variety of problems requiring deviation from standard practices. Inadequacies and erroneous decisions would cause moderate inconvenience and expense.

The Test Development Engineer, or Test Research and Development Engineer develops, modifies, and executes test plans to ensure the testability and manufacturability of Intel platforms. Defines test equipment and test case requirements and writes test content, standards, and procedures to ensure high test coverage. Drives development of methodologies, execution of validation plans, and debug of failures. Analyzes test results to ensure correct functionality, drives root causes of failures, and recommends corrective action. Applies emulation and platform level tools and techniques to ensure platform performance to specifications. Modifies test infrastructure design to support automated builds and tests execution across different hardware platforms and operating systems. Improves platform lifecycle by strengthening validation areas and streamlining requirements analysis and test creation processes. Maintains documentation of test results and supports debugging and platform modification activities. Collaborates with architecture, design, and verification teams to improve validation test content and ensures platform quality requirements and goals are met. Monitors yield, failure, and retest issues during build and works with the factory to quickly resolve issues. Responds to customer and client requests and events as they occur.

The Test Development Engineer is a key member of the Platform Engineering Development team supporting the Server silicon Reference Platform board and system development. The engineer owns the development and deployment of the functional test solutions and processes for server boards, and systems which can include all levels of integration, from closed chassis systems to rack cabinets.

The responsibilities include, but not be limited to:

  • Technology pathfinding and development for server board, system, and rack.

  • Engage with platform architect and design team to develop test plan.

  • Drive test process strategy requirements and DFT test hooks with Design Teams

  • Define Test Configurations and SPV Test HW requirement.

  • Develop and release product test solutions for Intel server products.

  • Develop software of the test solution and factory implementation, infrastructure requirements

  • Drive Process, test time efficiency and test yield improvement

  • Meet and maximize Product Functional Test Coverage.

  • Release product test coverage reports, test configuration matrix and test times

  • Provide Manufacturing Site Assessments for functional test and debug related capabilities.

  • Enable new Factory Startups and drive Functional Test requirements and setup.

  • Provide factory builds, ECOs, test process support as needed.

  • Support factory test verification, issue resolution, QANs and CQIRs

  • Provide product training across test software, process, integration, and debug.

Qualifications:

Candidate must possess the minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Computer Science related discipline

Working Experience with:

  • Script programming under Linux

  • Python programming

  • Linux OS

  • Hardware Design or debug


Preferred Qualifications

  • Script programming under EFI

  • Experience working in an Outsourced manufacturing environment

  • Experienced in debugging of PC/server boards

  • Experienced in BIOS, BMC FW or server platform validation.

  • Comprehensive understanding of Intel architecture and PC and/or Server is an added advantage

  • Experienced in test data analysis, familiarity with data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy) and data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau).

  • Hands-on experience on mainstream SQL or noSQL database like MSSQL/MySQL/MangoDB.

  • Experienced in E2E (end to end) test integration/automation at ODM/CM manufacturing sites, based on different product design and requirements.

  • Proactively pathfinding new technologies and industry trends for better board/system level test solutions.
