Intel's International Government Affairs team is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our Japan team as the Director of Government Affairs. In the role, you will be responsible for working closely with Intel Japan, the Director of North Asia Government Affairs, and the Vice President of International Government Affairs to develop a comprehensive government relations strategy for ensuring a supportive semiconductor policy and regulatory environment for Intel's growth and operations. The position will also be responsible for maintaining excellent relationships and networks with key Government stakeholders at the federal, prefecture, and local level to positively position Intel and build a sound reputation and position of influence for the company. The Director of Japan Government Affairs will: � Represent the organization in legislative matters with governmental bodies and for the implementation of all phases of regulatory strategy to ensure necessary approvals for company products/services. � Provide policy direction and coordinate Intel's efforts to engage with government directly or through the utilization of key opinion leaders, industry associations, foreign diplomatic missions, business chambers, media, and public-private partnerships. � Develop and implement programs to ensure awareness and appreciation of Intel's value proposition and enhance Intel's reputation. � Oversees Intel's lobbying activities in Japan and provide oversight and direction to any lobbyists, consultants, and associations engaged by the organization. � Establish and maintain relationships with external partners, industry, chambers, regulators, and opinion formers. � Work closely with Government of Japan including METI, MEXT, MIC, Cabinet's Office (Digital Agency), Universities, National Laboratories and Institutions to influence their key decisions as a trusted partner. � Monitor the industry/govt for intelligence sensing anticompetitive behavior and related risks and advise on necessary action. � Work closely with Intel Japan and internal stakeholders, such as Sales and Marketing, in identifying engagements points and developing an engagement strategy with government to support Intel's success. � Participate as an active member of the business community in activities and initiatives, including participation and leadership of business chambers, industry associations, etc.

Qualifications:

Must have detailed knowledge of how the Government of Japan functions and understand its structure and legislative processes at the federal, prefecture, and local levels. Should be able to communicate in Native Japanese and have proficient business English language skills. Understanding of issues affecting multinational businesses in Japan and policies in the semiconductor technology domain. Person in this role should possess exceptional diplomatic and negotiating skills, strong presentation, writing and communication skills and demonstrated experience in strategy development, implementation, and evaluation. Ability to demonstrate business savvy to link government functions to overall company objectives and to generate significant accomplishments with minimal supervision. Should have a working understanding of computing technologies. Positive outgoing attitude and should be able to represent the company at external platforms and at senior ministerial levels. Should be a team player, comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment and have a strong ability to partner and develop professional working relationships internally and externally. Minimum Requirements: � Bachelor's degree in international relations, public policy, government relations, political science, law, or related field � 10+ years related experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, and/or public affairs for a multinational company, NGO, or government. Preferred Qualifications: � Master's degree with 10+ years related experience in government relations, regulatory affairs, and/or public affairs for a multination company, NGO, or government.
