As a Foundry Yield Process Integration Engineer, you may be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Support process development, characterization, and optimization on foundry silicon technologies.
  • Own design / yield / performance issues on customer content and drive for solutions through collaboration with Intel development teams.
  • Own engineering projects to execute HVM yield roadmap, device targeting and attain performance targets.
  • Work with FEOL/BEOL Integration, Device, Defect Reduction and Yield Analysis team members to identify root cause of yield/performance/reliability issues and implement mitigation plan in defined timeline to meet committed production yield/performance targets and to support fast paced yield ramp-up in high-volume manufacturing phases.
  • Own NPI (New Product Introduction) in production fabs and perform product-specific process optimizations to meet foundry customers specifications.
  • Own engineering projects to improve product yield, quality, device performance and to reduce wafer cost.
  • Provide Engineering support for technical interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Interpret fab metrology, defect, E-test, and yield process data, silicon-to-simulation analysis versus variability targets, layout effects, design rule assessments, and product parametric correlation to electrical monitor structures to find innovative product/process solutions and optimize product yield and performance.
  • Support developing business processes and systems to facilitate response to customer requests and issues for process technology development and manufacturing from customer technology evaluation through design and manufacturing.
  • Drive implementation of foundry customer service best practices.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD Degree in a Science or Engineering field with 5+ years of semiconductor industry experience OR,
  • Master's Degree in a Science or Engineering field with 7+ years of semiconductor industry experience.
  • 2+ years of experience within a Foundry YA/Device/Integration/Defect Metrology team, or foundry customer collaboration team, must have semiconductor development background in an advanced technology node.
  • 6+ years of applied industrial experience in at least one of the following technical areas:
  • Semiconductor process integration, device physics, logic, architecture and integration, and interconnect development on leading edge technology nodes.
  • IC wafer fabrication process engineering, manufacturing systems, semiconductor materials, and wafer test (e.g., fabrication areas may include photolithography and advanced patterning, thin film deposition, planarization, defect metrology).
  • Experience interpreting product data including inline, e-test and SORT data, finding failure root cause and inline indicator and driving for solutions. Knowledge on inline inspection method, electrical test structures and SORT programs.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of statistics and experimental design; and the skills to apply that knowledge to tool matching, tool qualification, and process development.
  • Experience Leading taskforces using a structured problem-solving methodology to resolve process-related problems, quality improvement/tool improvement/ cost improvement actions.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work across organizational boundaries including process engineering, integration and yield.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the balance between foundry and customer needs. Direct experience working with external customer.
  • Working knowledge and application of internal and external industry standard audits and fully own compliance closure activities. Leading teams through audit practices.
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts, solutions, and strategic initiatives in both written and verbal environments.
  • Experience of foundry customer interface and owning foundry NPI activities and trouble-shooting tape-out issues.
  • Experience with Process Design Kit (PDK) silicon model target generation and use, silicon-to-simulation correlation, test structure design, device modeling, and electrical characterization.
  • Experience with eight disciplines (8D) model, process control standards, E3 and SPC response strategy. Leading teams through end-to-end process.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
