Job Description: 

For a System Engineering and Architecture group within the Wireless Connectivity Solutions, developing cutting-edge wireless communication products and technologies, we are seeking an experienced System and Integration Engineer.

We are looking for a Wi-Fi MAC system engineer to join our team. As a MAC system engineer the candidate will define SW and HW solutions in a multidisciplinary complex system in the Wi-Fi MAC interacting with multiple system architecture and design teams optimizing Wi-Fi power (on device and platform level) as well as PHY control functions.

The MAC system plays a central and leadership role in cutting edge Wi-Fi solution working on latest standards and directing the design groups to achieve best in class solutions.

Role will include among others the following:

  • System definitions and Power and MAC-PHY aspects:
    • Power management – Power features architecture as defined in the Wi-Fi spec, review and impact next gen Wi-Fi specs.
    • Power save flows – Define sleep/wake power system flows.
    • Platform power – Define platform power save mechanisms impacted by the Wi-Fi device.
    • ROI and value to costumer, SW partition considerations, system flows impact on latency/memory, RF interferences mitigation topic etc.
  • SW Specs delivery and integration support for the domain for legacy, NPI and next gen products including leading and driving to resolution of related bugs in the owned domains.
  • Hands-on including debug on lab setups and dive into code.
  • Power Use Case KPIs – Define related use cases as part of the product and platform overall use cases, model these and provide regular KPIs based on this and the product power primitives.
  • Calibration system aspects (timing, impact on other flows and cores, low device power states aspects etc).
  • PHY Configuration for different Wi-Fi use cases (Channel adjustments, real time considerations, etc.).
  • Future technologies opportunities and impact on Power and MAC-PHY items.
  • Big data analysis for system decisions in Power and MAC-PHY domain.

Working closely (mainly) with Product, System, PHY, RF, SV and FW/Driver teams as well as platform architecture and validation.

Qualifications:

  • BSc in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, at least 7 years of experience and strong knowledge of RT Embedded SW.
  • Experience with design and development of wireless communications systems will be an advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi protocol 802.11 (a/b/c/g/n/e/ac/ax/be) will be an advantage.
