Job Description: 

MSO Automation Advanced Process Control (APC) team is looking for highly motivated Software Development professionals with a background in Semiconductor manufacturing, to design, develop, test, debug and validate software applications used for automating process control in Intel's advanced fabrication sites in Arizona, Israel and Ireland.

APC applications are deployed in an Integrated Factory Automation environment interacting with other mission-critical/high availability automation services, hence quality and reliability is paramount to our development philosophy. Development may span the full application stack including both frontend and backend application development.

The developer uses modern software development methodologies and programming languages, follows secure coding practices and software legal compliance guidelines, analyzes user requirements, writes both functional and test code, automates build and deployment procedure, and performs unit integration and end-to-end testing for the applications.

Completes SDL (Software Development Lifecycle) tasks and collaborates extensively with other automation organizations for development, packaging, and installation tasks as well as interacts with end users to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications needed per pilot testing in a high velocity, high quality environment.

Additional responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Provides operational support to factory customers at pilot sites for application support while working with customers who are process and integration engineers

  • Reports out to Project management leads on application release timelines and support issues.

  • Provides training for customers on new application capabilities end documents them in our Internal knowledge capture systems.

  • Provides on the job sustaining support for APC application issues in the factory and performs necessary troubleshooting to restore factory capabilities in an efficient manner.

Qualifications:

Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Computational Physics or related Engineering disciplines.

  • Bachelor’s degree 7+ years of experience or

  • Master of Science degree 5+ years of experience or

  • PhD with 1+ years of experience

  • Experience working in a semiconductor factory and process related domain knowledge OR experience in development of Production level Control Systems Automation.

  • Experience in two or more of the programming and scripting languages: Matlab, XSLT scripting, Python, C++ and C#

  • Working knowledge of data structures and algorithms

  • Proficiency with source control tools (i.e. Github, Gitlab or TFS) and performing code contributions and reviews through those tools

  • Experience with systematic troubleshooting and root cause analysis to address and resolve application performance issues and replicate in development environment for debugging in widely used IDEs preferably Visual Studio

  • Experience working with databases like Oracle or MSSQL, writing and developing performant SQL queries and scripts and familiar with use of PL/SQL and ODP .NET in application development.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with developer automation, CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous deployment) pipelines, and automated testing

  • Experience with Windows Application development using WCF in C#/ .NET for High Availability services and Framework development

  • 2+ years of experience working in a semiconductor factory and process related domain knowledge

  • 2+ years of experience in Matlab, Python and C#

  • 2+ years of experience with control systems, linear optimization methods and simulations (eg robotics, application development, automation factory control systems)

  • Advanced knowledge of data structures and algorithms
