Job Description: 

In this position you will work as part of an overall Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) team.

You will be primarily be responsible for the development, co-ordination, continuous improvement and management of specific Industrial Hygiene (IH) programs, working closely with Safety engineers.

 

Examples of site IH programs include: hearing conservation, ionising and non-ionising radiation, laser safety and ventilation.

 

In addition, you will support the overall EHS management system and ISO 45001 standards which will involve close liaison with EHS engineers. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

 

  • Conducting IH risk assessments and associated employee and/or area exposure monitoring for both physical and chemical hazards and provide recommendations for reducing or eliminating exposure.

  • Performing IH surveys associated with our Equipment Sign Off (ESO) program.

  • Act as the subject matter expert in relation to assigned IH programs.

  • Support accident/incident investigation and root cause analysis.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and internal standards.

  • Analyze data, identify trends and define focus areas.

Qualifications:

  • Batchelor's Degree in science, chemical or engineering and must have a Higher Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from the National University of Ireland, Galway (NUIG) or an equivalent qualification as accredited by the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS).

  • 2 plus years of experience within industrial/occupational hygiene field.

Preferred Requirements

 

  • Demonstrate a high level of technical and scientific competence in the application of the fundamentals of recognition, evaluation, control and prevention of occupational and environmental hazards.

  • Utilize effective oral and written communications to interact with customers around industrial hygiene matters.

  • Ability to work in a team with minimum direction. Self-motivator with own initiative.

  • Demonstrate efficient work methods, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of EHS Management Systems and their practical application to industry.

  • Additional training in areas such as Ionising Radiation, Noise, Occupational Monitoring, etc. would be an advantage.

  • Ability to present and explain Industrial Hygiene data to both technical and non-technical forums.

  • Good presentation skills.

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
