Job Description: 

In this position you will work as part of an overall EHS team and will be primarily responsible for the development, co-ordination, continuous improvement and management of specific EHS programs onsite.

In addition you will support the overall EHS management system and OHSAS 18001 / ISO 45001 standards which will involve close liaison with EHS engineers.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Focus on promoting and instilling a strong health and safety culture.

  • Provide EHS advice, assistance and support to Line Management and departments

  • Act as the content expert in relation to assigned EHS programmes.

  • Development and completion of risk assessments - area and task related.

  • Support event investigation and root cause analysis.

  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance to regulatory requirements and internal standards.

  • Analyze data, identify trends and define focus areas.

This is a 23 month contract placement.

Qualifications:

A minimum of a NFQ Level 8 qualification in a core EHS discipline or science related discipline and have completed either a Post. Grad. Diploma or MSc. in an occupational safety/EHS discipline.

  • Work experience within the field is beneficial.

  • Knowledge of EHS Management Systems and their practical. application to industry.

  • Utilize effective oral and written communications to interact with customers around EHS matters.

  • A high tolerance for ambiguity and change due to the dynamic nature of the business.

  • Ability to work in a team with minimum direction. Self-motivator with own initiative.

  • Demonstrate efficient work methods, analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and the ability to present and explain EHS data to both technical and non-technical forums.

  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail. Willingness to build and foster a strong EHS culture.
