Intel has announced a major expansion of Intel's production capacities in Europe and plans to develop two first-of-their-kind semiconductor fabs in Magdeburg, Germany, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt. A State Aid Approval procedure for the project is currently pending with the European Commission. According to current planning production at the site is expected to start in four to five years following the European Commission's approval.

We are looking for several specialists for our planned greenfield mega-site in Magdeburg, Germany: a large-scale, multi fab, 3000+ employee operation supporting Intel's internal and foundry wafer supply. This position will report directly to a Department Manager at the Magdeburg Site.

This is an onsite position at our campus in Magdeburg, Germany and relocation assistance will be provided. Training assignments may be required at other domestic or international locations. Join us and help us create the next generation of technologies that will shape the future for decades to come. As a Foundry Yield Analysis Engineer, you may be responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Support yield analysis on foundry customer silicon with limited product design information.

  • Generate overall product yield accounting table by bin with a focus on defect density by IP.

  • Identify systemic and baseline yield improvement opportunities.

  • Understand new technologies such as 18A Ribbon FET and backside PowerVia and develop novel foundry yield characterization techniques as needed.

  • Understand Intel Process technology roadmap.

  • Analyze logic diagnostic and SRAM bitmap data identifying signals for further investigation.

  • Collaborate with Process Integration, Device Engineering, Defect Inspection and Failure Analysis teams to identify yield detractors and yield enhancement opportunities and support fast paced yield ramp-up in high-volume manufacturing phases.

  • Support technical interactions with internal and external customers.

  • Experience Leading taskforces using a structured problem-solving methodology to resolve process-related problems, quality improvement/tool improvement/ cost improvement actions.

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts, solutions, and strategic initiatives in both written and verbal environments.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have a Bachelor's or Master's in science or engineering area and qualifications (or):

  • Several years of experience in advanced node semiconductor industry in yield analysis engineering.

  • Several years of collaboration experience with defect inspection, failure analysis, integration, and module engineering.

  • Several years of experience within a Foundry YA/Device/Integration/Defect Metrology team, or foundry customer collaboration team, must have semiconductor development background in an advanced technology node.

  • Several years of experience with statistical analysis tools such as JMP.

  • Several years of experience interpreting product data including inline, e-test and SORT data, finding failure root cause and inline indicator and driving for solutions.

  • Knowledge on inline inspection method, electrical test structures and SORT programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in science or engineering area.

  • Experience engaging with external Foundry customers presenting yield summaries.

  • Experience in new semiconductor technology development.

  • Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
