Job Description: 

Intel has announced a major expansion of Intel's production capacities in Europe and plans to develop two first-of-their-kind semiconductor fabs in Magdeburg, Germany, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt. A State Aid Approval procedure for the project is currently pending with the European Commission. According to current planning production at the site is expected to start in four to five years following the European Commission's approval.

We are looking for several specialists for our planned greenfield mega-site in Magdeburg, Germany: a large-scale, multi fab, 3000+ employee operation supporting Intel's internal and foundry wafer supply. This position will report directly to a Department Manager at the Magdeburg Site. This is an onsite position at our campus in Magdeburg, Germany and relocation assistance will be provided. Training assignments may be required at other domestic or international locations.

As a Foundry Manufacturing Engineer specializing in Manufacturing Science, you may be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Create and implement strategy to drive reduction in complexity and variability within the fab.

  • Develop strategy, systems, indicators, milestones, and training for ramp and high-volume sustaining.

  • Partnering with Intel Technology Development (TD) to understand operational challenges and determine mitigation strategies.

  • Develop and drive Production indicators to support customer requirements and deliver competitive targets.

  • Define and implement industry best production practices.

  • Develop systems and infrastructure to improve production and people efficiency.

  • Partner with the Production Department Manager to improve Fab leadership practices to eliminate variability by implementing efficient operations, including crossover, meeting protocols, communication, staffing plans, and people practices.

  • Understand process flow with cycle time capability and identify impact of customer requested changes on Fab's ability to achieve.

  • Provide monthly input on Fab committed cycle time and assure Fab meets committed priority levels.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field with 3+ years of Foundry Production Experience.

  • 2+ yrs. of demonstrated experience using simulation software/tools in a semiconductor production environment.

  • 2+ yrs. of demonstrated experience using SQL to query large databases and perform complex data-analysis to drive decisions.

  • 2+ yrs. of demonstrated experience generating standard decision-making reports using data-visualization coding (e.g., Python, C++, Java).

  • 2+ yrs. of demonstrated experience using a structured problem-solving approach to resolving complex technical challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience Leading taskforces to resolve operations-related problems, systems improvement/tool improvement/ cost improvement actions.

  • Lean 6-Sigma Certification.

  • Ability to lead, work, and influence across all levels and organizational boundaries of operations including process engineering, planning, integration, yield, planning, materials, finance, and suppliers.

  • Demonstrated experience managing the balance between foundry and customer needs.

  • Working knowledge and application of internal and external industry standard audits and fully own compliance closure activities.

  • Leading teams through audit practices.

  • Ability to communicate complex concepts, solutions, and strategic initiatives in both written and verbal environments.

  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Understanding of manufacturing automation systems and the manufacturing business process.
