Job Description: 

The System Simulation and Modeling (SSM) team is part of the Intel Design Engineering Group (DEG). We are transforming the way our product firmware and software are developed, integrated, and tested in a modern distributed cloud computing environment. We build high-performance system simulators that serve as the product of our future and drive value through automated utilization of new simulation. Great simulators result in leadership products by simulating our architecture and software before committing to our product execution.

We are looking for strong software developers ready to engage in Simics modeling for Datacenter products .

The primary responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

- Software development and automation, driving initiatives and projects from design through implementation and deployment, system debug and support.

- Exercising judgment and discretion to develop solutions, remove obstacles and redefine approaches.

- Assess risks and identify efficient approaches to deliver high quality solutions in timely manner.

A successful candidate will have proven experience demonstrating the following skills and behavioral traits:

- Critical thinking and problem solving
- Highly Proactive and strong stakeholder management skills.

Qualifications:


Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications are required to be initially considered for this position.
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelors, Licentiate, Master's, or a Ph. D. in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering.
- At least 1 year of experience working part-time or full time in: unit testing, device development, system level scenario testing and debugging/triaging of fw/sw using the Simics Simulator.
- At least 1 year of Experience in C++, Python, DML or C
- Intermediate to Advanced English level and communication skills
- Unrestricted permanent right to work in Costa Rica


Preferred Qualifications:
- Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
- Experience in modeling/simulating large scale data center products.
- Experience in Simics modelling or usage.
- Experience with Intel architecture, including accelerators, security features, memory and/or RAS.
- Experience in using the x86 instruction set and CPU architecture.
- Experience in DevOps methods and tools, such as git, Jenkins.
- Ability to debug system software including firmware, driver, or OS.
- Experience navigating through product architecture's datasheets.
- Experience in Datacenter architecture and cloud technologies.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
