Position Title: Dermatology Registrar and Research Fellow (Dermatology- Phlebology) - Unaccredited Position
Employment Type: Temporary Maximum Term, Part Time, until 02 July 2024
Hours per week: 8 Hours per

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to patients of the Dermatology Department. 

An exceptional opportunity now exists for a junior medical officer to join St Vincent’s Department of Dermatology. St Vincent's Hospital is a tertiary referral and teaching hospital affiliated with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) providing multi-disciplinary inpatient and outpatient care. 

The successful candidate will be based at the Department of Dermatology, St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney. The position involves efficient and effective delivery of in-patient and outpatient dermatology services, undertaking training activities and participating in teaching of junior medical staff and medical students while undertaking a higher degree research with the UNSW on a part time basis.

The successful candidate will attend to clinical duties (Monday and Wednesday afternoons) while undertaking research activities on other days with regular supervisor meetings.

Clinical duties include in-patient care, consults, biopsies, referral triage and attending outpatients clinics. The trainee will be supervised at all times by department consultants and senior registrars. Research activity will be undertaken at the Dermatology, Phlebology, Fluid Mechanics Research Lab (St. Vincent’s Applied Medical Research) and the affiliated clinical centres.

About you:
We are seeking a skilled and energetic Position Title who possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who are Manager to include desired experience/attributes.

Selection Criteria:

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.
2. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. 
3. At least three years post graduate experience.
4. Enrolment in a dermatology-related higher education degree (Masters or PhD) with the UNSW.
5. Excellent track record of research, publication or educational activities in dermatology or related fields.

6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

7. Demonstrated teamwork, time management and problem-solving skills to work independently within a multidisciplinary team environment. 
8. Evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy including any amendments made from time to time.
