Job Description:

Position Title: Research Assistant
Employment Type: Casual
Hours per week: As needed
Position Grade: Health Services Manager Level 1
Salary: $ 81,581 to 108,532 base salary per annum

Position Summary:    

A vacancy exists in the above unit for a highly motivated Research Assistant with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive multidisciplinary team. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.

The Research Assistant will join the Allied Health Research Unit at St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney working with the Senior Research Fellow - Allied Health and Allied Health team. The Research Assistant will provide research support to a range of projects within the Allied Health Research

Unit, supporting study recruitment, data collection, data analysis and project coordination activities.

The position is available on a casual basis. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with qualification and experience. The successful candidate will be expected to work closely with collaborators in a multidisciplinary team. All work must be conducted in a safe, reliable and efficient manner with

The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.

Selection Criteria    

  • Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia

  • BSc (Hon) or entry level degree in a relevant allied health discipline with AHPRA registration (if relevant to discipline) or equivalent research skills based on experience and is an Australian citizen or permanent resident or holder of a current Australian work visa.

  • Demonstrated understanding of ethical issues affecting the conduct of research and an awareness of the principles of confidentiality, privacy and information handling

  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with health professionals, health care consumers and carers

  • Demonstrated high level planning and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks and set and meet deadlines

  • Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development and to workplace health and safety including an awareness of the principles of confidentiality, privacy and information handling in conducting research. 

  • Immunization history complies with NSW Health Policy Directive ‘Occupational Assessment, Screening & Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases’ (PD2023_022)
