Job Description:

Position Title: Mental Health Registered Nurse

Employment Type: Permanent/Maximum Term, Full Time/Part Time

Hours per week: Up to 38 hours

Position Grade: Registered Nurse (Year 1-8)

Salary: $70,049.73 -$98,351.39 base per annum (1.0FTE) (plus superannuation)

Enterprise Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations’ Nurses Agreement 2017

About you:

We are seeking skilled and energetic Registered Nurses, who possess a passion for person-centred care to join our dynamic and accomplished multidisciplinary team based in an iconic location, close to Bondi Beach, providing care for people with mental health disorders / illnesses living in the inner city Sydney area.

Applicants will benefit from having prior experience working in mental health or have a keen and motivated interest to pursue a career in mental health nursing.

Vacancies are open to both Australian citizens and permanent residents / NZ citizens who hold valid eligibility to work in Australia. We also welcome applications from experienced mental health nurses from the UK / Ireland and Canada who have current AHPRA registration and hold a valid working holiday visa or are seeking sponsorship opportunities.

What we do:

The St Vincent’s team provides specialist mental health assessment, intervention and treatment to consumers with a range of mental health issues and face a range of social challenges.  Nursing staff have the opportunity to work in the inpatient mental health service, working alongside an MDT treating consumers with often complex mental health needs and co-morbidities.

Education/Post graduate opportunities:

St Vincent's Hospital has partnered with UTAS (University of Tasmania) to offer candidates the opportunity to complete a post graduate mental health qualifications. Successful candidates will be able to access a post graduate programme at a low fee and be provided with up to 10 days of supernumerary study time to complete their qualification.

2. Currently registered as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency.

3. Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team.

4. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.

5. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system.

6. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills.

7. Demonstrated evidence of integration of theoretical knowledge and clinical skills, critical thinking and analysis in their daily practice as a registered nurse.

8. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads with in a complex environment
