Job Description:

Position Title: Primary Health Enrolled Nurse
Employment Type: Full Time, Maximum Term (up to 2026)
Hours per week: 38 hours
Position Grade: Enrolled Nurse (Year 1 - 5)
Salary: $63,130.85 - $68,599.17 base per annum
Enterprise Agreement: The Named NSW (Non-Declared) Affiliated Health Organisations' Nurses Enterprise Agreement 2017

St Vincent’s is contracted by leading service providers MTC Broadspectrum to deliver health services to Parklea Correctional Centre – a major Sydney prison with capacity for 1,816 male inmates.

The provision of healthcare is a vital part of an inmate’s life. We’ve established St Vincent’s Correctional Health Services because of the unique difference corrective health professionals can make.

In 1838, when the Sisters of Charity who founded St Vincent’s arrived in Sydney from Ireland, they immediately went to the Parramatta Female Factory, where they made an important difference to the lives of hundreds of women convicts there. Similarly today, St Vincent’s Correctional Health aims to make a major difference by providing multidisciplinary healthcare to inmates at Parklea Correctional Complex.

About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of St Vincent's Correctional Health.

We offer free onsite parking and additional payments in the form of an environmental and productivity allowance, up to $7,000 per annum.

The successful applicant will be required to obtain a Corrective Service Clearance NSW to be able to take up this role.

About you:

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Enrolled Nurse who possesses a passion for person-centred care. We welcome applications from experienced and motivated Enrolled Nurses with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our progressive and supportive team.


As an Enrolled Nurse (Correctional Health) you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on an individual and the community. You will work with the Registered Nurse to serve as a critical link, to identifying the health care needs of the individual patient and promote health and wellbeing. You will be responsible for assisting in the provision of primary health care, triage and assessment, coordination and delivery of nurse-led clinics, health promotion activities, liaison with the interdisciplinary team, care planning and reviews, conducting health assessments.

Additionally the position will work with a number of Multiple Disciplinary Teams, including Ophthalmology, Radiology and Podiatry.

The successful applicant will be expected to work a 7 days rotating roster.

2. Currently registered as an Enrolled Nurse (Division 2) with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Agency
3. Demonstrated ability to work within the interdisciplinary team
4. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
5. Demonstrated computer literacy with email and an electronic patient record system
6. Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills
7. Demonstrated effective time management skills and ability to prioritise competing workloads with in a complex environment
8. Demonstrated customer service and patient centered approach to care
