The Patricia Ritchie Centre is a 12 chair, ambulatory care facility, primarily providing administration of chemotherapy and supportive care to Medical Oncology/ Haematology patients. It is a stand-alone facility within the grounds of the Mater Hospital, providing exceptional patient care and a supportive environment for staff. This is a fantastic opportunity for a suitably experienced, registered nurse, to join the experienced and supportive nursing team, on a full-time basis.
The purpose of the role of a Registered Nurse within Cancer Services, is to ensure the clinical care of patients at the Patricia Ritchie Centre is person-centred, and is delivered according to the philosophy, mission and values of St Vincent’s Health Australia.
A Registered Nurse within Cancer Services is responsible for ensuring that all patient care delivered, is within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse. The Chemotherapy nurse adheres at all times to policies and procedures of the Mater Hospital and St Vincent’s health Australia (SVHA).

ABOUT YOU:
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Current AHPRA Registration
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Strong commitment to providing excellent clinical care
Commitment to continued professional development and undertaking further studies as identified as requirements for this position.
Sound knowledge of Department of Health Guidelines and Regulations, Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control and their impact on the delivery of care.
Commitment to personal professional development
Experience within Oncology/haematology is desirable not essential
Experienced in cannulation or willingness to learn
Competent in the safe administration of antineoplastics or willingness to learn.
Ability to clinically manage one’s self, and others when required, to create a transformational leadership environment.
Excellent skills in oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills.
Experience working within an acute health care clinical setting.
Time management skills
Flexibility
High-level computer literacy
