Voted no.1 Australian hospital by Medibank members 2 years in a row, St. Vincent’s Private Hospital, Sydney has an opportunity available for a highly motivated Nurse Unit Manager with management and leadership experience to join our Surgical Services Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) team.

This role is planned to commence from February 2024. The position is full-time working Monday to Friday supporting the Perioperative Services and Cardiac Catheter Lab. The DOSA NUM will play a pivotal role in planning, preparing and delivering nursing care services to patients from their admission through to the recovery and discharge of any patients within and up to 24hrs of their procedure.

You will bring your passion to the role, you will be a valued member of the multi-disciplinary team and will have the opportunity to participate in all learning and development activities including support to enhance and proactively lead quality improvement in the DOSA environment.

Your skills and experience:

As an outstanding Registered Nurse with managerial or leadership experience, you are equipped with a minimum five (5) years post graduate experience in nursing. Experience with pre and post-op management of elective acute surgical and/or catheter lab patients along with professional membership with ACORN will be considered an advantage to this role.

Your skills will include:

  • Nurse with AHPRA registration

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Exceptional interpersonal and computer literacy skills with electronic patient record systems

  • Critical thinking skills that result in effective problem solving approach to patient care

  • Proactive approach to continual process improvement with clinical care and continued professional development for the team

  • Able to initiate innovative solutions to identified issues

  • Detail oriented work habits and strong organisational behaviours including excellence in time management

  • Ability to maintain collaborative and effective relationships with interdisciplinary team members, patients and visitors within a dynamic environment


Remuneration:
St. Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney Nurses' EA. Nurse Unit Manager Level 1 –$65.58 + salary packaging + superannuation, exclusive of shift penalties or allowances.
