Job Description Summary

The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) invites applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in Alzheimer’s disease (AD) research. We are seeking a highly motivated and well-organized research scholar to study the mechanisms by which age-associated accumulation of senescent cells contributes to AD pathogenesis and progression. The successful candidate will utilize a wide range of state-of-the-art approaches, including cellular & molecular biology techniques, multiomics analyses, cerebral organoids, neuropathological techniques, cognitive tests, and AD transgenic animal models, to delineate how senescent glial cells affect amyloid plaque formation, tau hyperphosphorylation, neurogenesis and cognitive functions. Applicants should have a recent Ph.D. in neurobiology, molecular cell biology, or other related fields. Interested applicants should submit your CV and a cover letter describing your research experience/interests/future career goals for consideration. Competitive salary and benefits will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Previous experience with AD transgenic animal models, brain organoids culture, and confocal microscopy is highly preferred.
