Job Description
A certified nursing assistant, or CNA, helps patients with activities of daily living and other healthcare needs under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). CNA’s are also commonly referred to as a Nursing Assistant, Patient Care Assistant (PCA), or a Nurse’s Aide.
Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education: A high school diploma or equivalent. At least one year of patient care experience in a health care facility or as Certified Nursing Assistant is preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant for the state of South Carolina. Will be required to maintain American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS). Crisis prevention training may be required based on department requirements.
