Job Description

The Registered Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of two years' work experience as a Registered Nurse preferred. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.

Experience: Two years of hospital experience in a critical care environment preferred. Demonstration of knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served. Demonstrates knowledge of principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirement relative to the patient’s needs and to provide care needed as described to in policy and procedure.

Licenses/Certificates: Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state license. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) for Healthcare Providers. Some positions require certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
