The role:
This rewarding opportunity will see you join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney (SVPHS) located in Darlinghurst as Food Services Assistant in our Patient Food Services department.
This role will be casual and will be pivotal in delivering customer focused service. This service includes delivery and collection, plating and sanitisation of all meals across St Vincent’s campus comprising St Vincent’s Private Hospital, St Vincent’s Public Hospital, Sacred Heard and the O’Brien Centre.

Your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
To ensure all food and meal delivery services is delivered within the scope of practice of the food services assistant and by adhering to policies and procedures of SVPHS and St Vincent’s Health Australia (SVHA).
Perform food and meal delivery services duties at SVPHS and ensures that it is provided in line with all relevant Australian and International standards.
To ensure the confidentiality of patients and staff is maintained and communication and interpersonal skills are effective and appropriate.
Maintained at all times with menu and dietary requirements and food safety compliance.
Serving Meals and Beverages to patients.
Following meal reports and work schedules.
Tray assembly according to meal tickets.
Cleaning and Washing up responsibilities.
You will bring your passion to the role where you will join an unified and supportive team.
Your skills and experience:
As an outstanding Food Services Assistant, you are master at understanding of food safety and you are equipped with experience working within a hospital food services setting or hospitality environment.
Your skills will include:
Ability to follow instructions and food safety principle.
Exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Attention to detail.
Ability to work within a team or unsupervised.
Punctuality.
Flexibility to cover shifts over 7 days.
Commitment to continued professional development.
REMUNERATION:
St Vincent’s Health Australia (NSW Private Hospitals) Support Services EA.
Level 1 - $26.33 (excludes casual loading) + salary packaging + superannuation exclusive of shift penalties or allowances)
Our requirements:
Criminal record and child protection checks will be conducted and will form part of the selection criteria.
SVPHS has a duty of care under work health and safety legislation to eliminate and/or control the risk of transmission of vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) in healthcare settings. You are therefore required to comply with the SVHA Staff Health Screening Immunisation Policy, which, depending on the role you perform in the organisation will require you to undergo mandatory immunisations/vaccinations (including COVID-19 and flu vaccinations).
