About the Role
An exciting opportunity currently exists for a Grade 1 Speech Pathologist to join our dynamic and supportive Speech Pathology team on a full time basis. You will provide acute and subacute Speech Pathology assessment and management to inpatients with communication and swallowing difficulties.
Duties include:
Assessment and management of patients in accordance with up-to-date knowledge of departmental clinical policies and currently accepted Speech Pathology Australia professional standards of practice
Provision of information counseling regarding communication, cognition and swallowing disorders to patients, carers and other staff as required
Participation in quality improvement and research activities where appropriate
Participation in the Speech Pathology Department and Unit team meetings
Participation in internal and external professional development where appropriate
The classification range for this position is VP3 - VP7 ($67,849 - $82,539 per annum).
Your contribution
Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) or Bachelor of Speech Pathology or equivalent
Eligible for membership of Speech Pathology Australia
Experience in Speech Pathology management of patients with disorders of communication and swallowing in a hospital setting
High level interpersonal skills incorporating excellent communication, organisational and negotiation skills
Current national criminal history check or willing to obtain
