About the Role

The focus of cancer care services at SVHM is to manage all patients in a multidisciplinary setting bringing together expertise from a range of disciplines and specialists. Dedicated facilities and personnel support the conduct of multidisciplinary cancer meetings across a broad range of tumour streams. There are strong collaborations between the oncology, haematology, specialist surgical, palliative care and psycho-oncology units within the hospital.

Duties

  • Delivery of a high quality, patient-oriented clinical service in the outpatient setting
  • Participation in medical education and supervision in the clinic context.
  • Participation in Oncology research is encouraged
  • Contribution to departmental clinical and research meetings is encouraged
  • Attendance at one medical oncology outpatient clinic per week at SVHM

This is a 12 month part time (EFT 0.10)

Salary as per Enterprise Agreement (HN16 - HN56)

Your contribution

  • Registration as a medical practitioner without conditions, with APHRA
  • FRACP in Medical Oncology
  • Clinical skills and abilities are expected, consistent with the level of training in oncology according to the years of experience in the specialty
  • Good communication skills at a primary patient care and inter-professional level
  • Strong interest in patient care, research and clinical trials
  • Current GCP certificate
  • Valid National Police Clearance, or willing to obtain
