About the role:
From December 2023, we have some exciting opportunities to work in a dynamic team leading our approach to the provision of quality care to clients of the General Medicine.


About you:

We are seeking skilled and energetic Resident Medical Officers/Senior Resident Medical Officer who possess a passion for person centred care. We welcome applications from people who are able to work closely with all members of staff and must:

  • Work as part of, and contribute to a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Deal with matters of an urgent or sensitive nature.
  • Must have the ability to exercise discretion, sensitivity and maintain confidentiality.
  • Works co-operatively within a team environment and actively contributes to team activities including pro-actively participates in team meetings and decision making processes.

The resident medical officer is required to communicate at a high level with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. The resident medical officer needs to display sound communication skills to deal effectively with administrative and medical staff.

Selection Criteria:
1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia

2. MBBS or equivalent, currently registered with Medical Board of Australia
3. Demonstrated excellent communication skills (verbal and written), and computer skills
4. A professional attitude and flexibility in the work role with a preparedness and ability to participate in after-hours overtime and on-call rosters, and rural rotations of the Network. 
5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
6. Demonstrated effective organisational and time management skills
7. Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and interest in teaching

8. Completion of at least one year experience working as a medical officer (not as an observer)
