ABOUT THE POSITION:
Join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside team as Radiographer in our Cardiac Catheter Lab at our state-of-the-art Chermside location.

This is a part time position where the Radiographer’s purpose is to provide professional expertise and technical support in relation to radiological and imaging requirements.

This is a great opportunity for a Radiographer to expand their clinical knowledge, skills and experience by getting exposure to a wide variety of cardiac and vascular procedures. This is a fast-paced Cath Lab and hybrid operating theatre with state-of-the-art equipment and a supportive and professional team.

DUTIES: Key responsibilities include:

  • Safe operation of radiographic equipment and provision of guided support and direction to the clinician
  • Delivery of a high standard of medical imaging, utilising multiple modalities and appropriate image storage and maintenance
  • Practice of the ALARA principle to ensure dose to patients, staff and clinicians is maintained as low as reasonably achievable
  • Protect the health and safety of self and others, complying with all health and safety related policies, procedures and directions
  • Collaborate and clearly communicate with patients/clients and the healthcare team
  • Reliable participation in a regular on call roster

ABOUT YOU:

To be successful you will require:

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Radiographer
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Radiographer in an acute tertiary hospital.
  • Experience working within a Cardiac Catheter Lab or Angiography Suite is preferable.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
  • General X-Ray skills and sub speciality of either MRI or CT is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of regulations, legislations and best practice
  • Commitment to excellent patient centred care
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • The ability to work flexibly within the department and to provide effective leadership and education in the absence of a Senior Radiographer
  • Intermediate computer literacy, in using a range of Microsoft Office programs and openness to extend learning into 3 D post processing software’s.
