About the Opportunity:

As the Facility Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of all aspects of the St Vincent’s Care Douglas. Your role will include maintaining exceptional performance standards, leading your team to success and ensuring every resident feels welcomed, engaged and supported. Reporting to the Queensland State Manager, you will also have the support of centralised centres of excellence as part of a national, progressive healthcare organisation.

Located by the Ross River in sunny Townsville and close to Townsville Hospital and James Cook University, St Vincent’s Care Services Douglas will deliver outstanding levels of wellbeing and comfort for our residents and a positive uplifting work/life balance for our staff

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Leading your team to provide ongoing professional care and holistic support for residents

  • Operational performance of the facility including accreditation, financial budgets, staffing, safety etc.

  • Consistently maintaining quality and accreditation guidelines

  • Ensuring reporting requirements are met

  • Safeguarding and maintaining occupancy levels

  • Maintaining a happy and homelike environment underpinned by Christian values

Things that work for us:

  • Dynamic leaderships with a continual focus on improvement

  • Demonstrated experience leading an Aged Care Facility or Regional Manager role (essential)

  • AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (highly regarded though not essential)

  • Understanding, exposure and management of the Aged Care Funding Instrument, Aged Care Legislation and Facility Accreditation

  • Commercial acumen and solid knowledge of the key business drivers of aged care

  • Ability to foster a safe workplace and drive continuous quality improvement initiatives to develop sustainable practice

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders at various levels;

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to success and high quality performance

  • An understanding of the culture and tradition of Catholic Health, including a commitment to the Mission, Vision and Values of the organisation and an ability to promote the behavioural expectations in line with this philosophy

  • Current Flu, COVID-19 vaccination and National Police Certificate

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check will be a requirement of this role.
