About the Role
This dynamic position will work within St Thomas Outpatient services to perform a wide range of administrative tasks under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager in the support and facilitation of total patient management. St Thomas is responsible for the provision of all primary care services at Port Phillip Prison.
Classifications for this position will be a HS1 - HS17 ($58,442.80 - $63,138.40 base salary per annum)
Duties
Use effective communication skills by providing prompt customer service requests
Schedule Primary Care and Secondary Outpatient appointments as requested
Maintain and prepare administration and medical files including, for admission and reception episodes including use of bradma labels
Generate patient data for health care staff on a timely basis and prepare medical reports as requested
Ensure that all medical files are maintained and stored according to established protocols
Assist with all management of medical information for Port Phillip Prison and forwarding other prison locations
Assist with Prisoner health movements coordination
Appropriately refer and ensure all inquiries are dealt with effectively and efficiently
Demonstrate ability to manage and achieve organisational change
Take part in ongoing communication forums conducted with unit staff
Adhere to all aspects of confidentiality in regard to patients, staff and personal documentation
Your Contribution
Completion of Year 12 or equivalent literacy and numeracy
Excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Computer skills – working knowledge of Windows environment including word processing, spread sheets and database
Experience in healthcare preferred

About St Vincent's Correctional Health Service (SVCHS)
St Vincent's Correctional Health Services (SVCHS) provide primary health, primary mental health and subacute health care services to Port Phillip Prison. The prison is a privately operated maximum security prison that caters for 1117 males. SVCHS operates a large outpatient health service (St Thomas) and provides on-site subacute healthcare for up to 40 inpatients in the St John’s unit.
