Position Title: Enrolled Nurse Transition Program
Employment Type: Maximum Term, Full Time (12 months)

Employment Period: 11 March 2024 to 09 March 2025
Hours per week: 38 hours / 1.0 FTE
Position Grade: Enrolled Nurse (Year 1)
Salary: $63,130.85 base per annum (+ penalty rates and superannuation)

About the Program:

We are seeking highly motivated newly graduated Enrolled Nurses to join our Enrolled Nurse Transition Program. This structured program will facilitate transition to acute care nursing, by delivering opportunity to practice in a demographically and clinically diverse setting. The program aims to support clinical skills development, professional development and reflective practice, in line with the Nursing and Midwifery Board Standards for Practice: Enrolled Nurses (2016).

Participants in the Enrolled Nurse Transition Program (ENTP) will be allocated two clinical rotations (2 x six months) across the St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney, working a full time 7 day a week rotating roster covering all shifts. Corporate, hospital and nursing orientation will be provided at the commencement of the program followed by unit specific induction and supernumerary shifts for each rotation. The Enrolled Nurse Transition Program will have a structured suite of workshops, regular debrief/clinical supervision and Continuing Professional Development sessions, facilitated by the Enrolled Nurse Transition Program Nurse Educator. Applicants with a preference for either medical, surgical, or mental health can indicate this directly to the Program Coordinator prior to application.

All applicants must:

  • Have completed or be due to complete the TAFE NSW (or equivalent) HLT54115 Diploma of Nursing (Enrolled/Division 2 Nursing) between January 2023 and January 2024

  • Have current registration with AHPRA, or be registered by the start date of the program – we cannot offer positions to those without registration

  • Upload a CV, cover letter, responses to the selection criteria and Diploma transcript in their application

  • Provide details for two referees in their cover letter

  • Meet and clearly address the selection criteria, and upload selection criteria responses with their application

1. Personal integrity and demonstrated commitment to the Philosophy, Mission and Values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent’s Health Australia.

2. Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Enrolled Nurse (Medication Endorsed & must include IV medication. Diploma Transcript should show subjects “HLTEN519C or HLTEN519A or HLTEN519B or HLTENN007)

3. Effective written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

4. Demonstrated ability to deliver high quality patient care within a multidisciplinary health care team

5. Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development

6. Demonstrated understanding of the role of the Enrolled Nurse including professional, ethical and legal requirements
