The Deputy Director, Analytics – Vaccines/US will report to the Senior Director, Analytics and will be an integral part of US Vaccines Commercial Operations team. Primary responsibility of the role is to collaborate with brand marketing team on strategic and cross-functional projects and create analytics to help improve the strategy and tactics of the marketing & sales organization. This person will be responsible for transforming data into meaningful, action-oriented business insight driving optimization of various resources.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with Product Marketing, Sales and Senior Management to identify key business questions that can be answered using data. Use various analytical techniques to answer these questions, tell a data driven cohesive story and guide the leadership with strategic perspectives to make informed strategic and operational decisions.

  • Analyse and interpret data to monitor and provide feedback on brand performance. Go beyond what is being asked and proactively bring insights to the business to support business decisions.

  • Manage Market Mix modelling and other advanced mathematical projects from start to finish, while communicating complex concepts to business partners and ensuring relevancy to business issue/opportunity.

  • Work with Sr. Director of Analytics and internal stakeholders on bigger cross-functional projects to develop project plans, identify key milestones, define analytical methodologies, and rolling out the results.

  • Partner closely with Reporting and ITS Teams to ensure data/reporting required for analysis is delivered to key customers (e.g., Product Marketing, Sales, Senior Management, External Customers, etc.) in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Work with outside data vendors to identify the right dataset to answer business critical questions, collaborate with Information Governance to bring the data in internal warehouse in the desired format and work with Reporting on desired reports/dashboards.

  • Ensure accuracy of analysis by developing and adhering to QC/validation procedures to achieve the highest level of accuracy and quality standards.

  • Explore and apply new data, tools, and methodologies, and adapt to vaccines environment and business, and evaluate new data sets (public and private) to determine robustness and value.

  • Train and mentor junior analysts on the team, provide guidance on methodologies and review their work before it goes to Marketing.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:      

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Analytics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering

  • Master’s degree preferred in one of the above subjects.

  • 5+ years of experience performing commercial analytics within the pharmaceutical industry.

OTHER SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in applying data science methodologies to complex quantitative problems; experience with programming languages such as SQL, R, Python, or others is a plus.

  • Microsoft Excel proficiency required. Experience working with SAS, Tableau and Power BI preferred.

  • Proven leadership acumen, with well-developed communication & presentation skills

  • Proven strategic thinking ability, with deep understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape. Vaccines experience preferred.

  • Knowledge of working with pharma/vaccine datasets such as IQVIA DDD, Claims, etc.

  • Outstanding organizational skills, time management and dealing with conflicting priorities.

  • Strong interpersonal skills (with demonstrated stakeholder management, conflict management / resolution in group dynamic)
