The procurement function aims at enabling the sanofi strategy by leveraging the supplier markets and delivering added value throughout operations performed within Central, Global, and Regional pillars of its organization
To boost procurement efficiency and performance, the Procurement organization fosters the right level of globalization through a category management oriented operating model leveraging the management of resources through competencies, internal mobility and talent development
Job purpose
Responsible for all Medical and Scientific procurement activity
Ensure development and implementation of proper outsourcing tactics and strategies at the regional level for all Medical and Scientific procurement categories. This includes both global and regional strategies.
Establish strong internal business partnering with key Medical and Scientific Function heads.
Accountable for all global procurement needs being appropriately sourced, building a strong network and link to P2P .
Ensure compliance with the Procurement policies and company guidelines.
Support Supplier Relationship Management program aiming to stimulate the access to innovative and "best in class" external solutions. Can act as Key Supplier Manager (KSM) when assigned.
Implement effective approaches to further develop Talent management: Connection of teams with Corporate and Global goals, enhance performance in the Medical Category through flexible resourcing and strong individual performance management. Supports global high impact negotiations.
Provide leadership and people management to the Global Medical Procurement team
For non-strategic transactional medical services, work with P2P and marketplaces when applicable to ensure operational effectiveness and compliance.

Key accountabilities
Provide leadership to Medical and Scientific buyers to maintain flexible, efficient and effective operations in globally for Medical and Scientific Domain. Category- 1.9Bn€ perimeter
- Ensure continual improvement in Procurement Practices.
- Plan, establish and follow the implementation of Regional Procurement Objectives.
- Be accountable for all aspects of the function, build early engagement network for the team and provide visibility to impact Medical and Scientific Regional procurement
- Act in compliance with the best practices, policies and guidelines.
- Work closely with key stakeholders to develop joint objectives and to implement a demand management process globally, with adequate upstream visibility to manage effectively resources.
- Manage professional development of the Regional Procurement team to ensure technical and professional skill levels continue to expand and grow to better equip the staff to take advantage of all opportunities. Manage and maintain staff to be well-trained, engaged and motivate. Attract talent to procurement and ensure challenging, supportive environment for staff.
- Ensure proper alignment with key stakeholders across Sanofi and with suppliers.
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with key suppliers to enable innovation and cost containment through mutual accountability and trust
- Anticipates and consolidates all business needs to carry out negotiations.
- Is accountable for achieving the objectives defined with M&S Domain Head
- Business partners : all sanofi units, specifically R&D and IA executives and site heads
- Regional team staff : approx. 12 FTEs

-Ensuring on time and on budget project progression, from a supplier stand point, governance and key supplier relationship influencing.

Requirements
- BS/BA or international university degree required, MS/MBA, Ph.D., desirable but not mandatory, Degree in science, engineering, economics, sales or business related fields
- >10 years’ experience in either a procurement organization or other direct relevant pharmaceutical or healthcare field experience (e.g. finance, relevant R&D function or Supplier operations or business development)
- Ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams in a matrix & multicultural organization
- Fluent verbal and written ability with the English language
- Strategic organizational capabilities building; strong leadership and effective business partnering capabilities.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, financial, and conflict management skills
- Entrepreneurial spirit, Open minded, resourceful, creative, flexible, and result oriented
- Strong ethical behavior
