Job Description Summary

MUSC Health – Columbia Medical Center Downtown is seeking a full-time BC/BE Thoracic and Cardiac Surgeon for a well-established, nationally recognized group located in Columbia, South Carolina. Ideal candidates will have experience performing all routine cardiac operations including: CABG, valves, aortic work (wire skills preferred) and TAVR. Thoracic surgery will include empyema care as well as lung resections. Ideal candidate will have the experience needed to establish LVAD program.

Job Description

About the position:

• 1:3 call schedule
• Ideal candidate will have the experience to initiate LVAD program
• Procedures include: CABG, TAVR, valves, aortic work (wire skills preferred), care for post op ICU patients, empyema care and lung resections; esophageal care currently not provided
• Access to Cardiac CT, MRI, 3D Echo, PET and SPECT equipment
• Designated CV OR, CVICU and Cardiac Surgery stepdown unit
• Dedicated group of providers promoting teamwork, efficiency, and excellent patient care
• Well-respected Heart & Vascular practice with a 50-year history in the community

• Quick ramp-up time with excellent local marketing and outreach support
