Job Description Summary

This position is a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position to work in the College of Nursing (CON) Simulation department. Responsibilities include working with faculty to coordinate and manage simulation program planning, implementing innovative simulation teaching strategies, and facilitating simulation. The qualified candidate is expected to support the teaching mission of the college through clinical and simulation teaching.

Job Description

Minimum Qualifications: BSN degree required (highly qualified BSN candidates who are enrolled in a graduate program). Unencumbered, active license as a registered nurse in South Carolina or another compact state. Recent (2-3 years) of patient care or supervision of students in simulation or clinical settings. Current BLS certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or the Military Training Network. Demonstrated ability to organize and implement learning activities. A record of teaching, scholarship, or practice that merits appointment at the rank of Clinical Instructor.  A commitment to scholarship and strong organizational and communications skills are necessary. The ability to move equipment and supplies between classrooms and floors and assist Simulation Instructors in setting up equipment is required.

Preferred Qualifications: The preferred candidate will have an earned Master’s Degree in Nursing. An interest in obtaining simulation certification in the future is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities: 
a.    Supervise students during pre-briefing, facilitation, and debriefing of simulation experiences across multiple content areas and programs
b.    Simulation lab maintenance and supply management
c.    Maintaining and purchasing inventory, including equipment and supplies
d.    Remediation and support of students clinical judgement skills and various nursing competencies
