What this job involves - The Lead Material Coordinator’s main responsibilities will support the picking and packing of sample and commercial pharmaceutical products for shipments to customers. This role will also perform a wide variety of tasks and operations that are required to maintain inventory control and the efficient flow of materials. All operations will be carried out in compliance with c’GMPs (current Good Manufacturing Practices), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

What is the day to day?

  • Lead staff and daily distribution/packaging activities.
  • Managing, evaluating, and reporting on productivity.
  • Tracking and coordinating the receipt, storage, and timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Ensure ordering of supplies and maintaining suitable inventory levels.
  • Checking orders, items received, inventory, and deliveries for accuracy.
  • Maintaining records, reporting relevant information, and preparing any necessary documentation.
  • Ensuring PPE compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinating and maintaining activities, projects, etc.
  • Communicating and coordinating with other departments and customers.
  • Present ideas on how to improve operations within all area’s. 
  • Contribute to updating/editing procedures/forms as needed.
  • Work with staff to ensure both Amgen and JLL training is completed before its due date.

Desired experience and technical skills -

Required

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 2 years of Warehouse and/or Material handling experience.
  • Experience working within a warehouse and/or with material/inventory.
  • Aptitude to follow pre-determined SOPs and willingness to learn about industry-specific documentation practices.
  • Ability to establish rapport with team members through good communication and positive attitude.
  • Be forward thinking and plan several steps ahead, being mindful of potential issues/problems that could arise with new or changed activities.

Preferred

  • Associate’s degree and 2 years of Warehouse/Material handling experience.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment (pharmaceuticals or biotechnology)
  • Basic knowledge of warehouse inventory management, SAP and Microsoft Office
  • Understand and carry out to Department of Transportation (DOT) and international shipping requirements (IATA)
  • Understanding of Good Distribution Practices or willing to learn
  • Knowledgeable of Cold Chain distribution requirements
  • Ability to operate a forklift or other powered industrial vehicles.
  • Possess and exhibit excellent attention to detail.

Work Environment

  • Able to work standing, walking, or, moving around offices, work site; crouching, or other non-sitting working positions; lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of heavy objects with appropriate industrial equipment.
  • Ability to comfortably lift 30lbs.
  • Controlled temperature environment. 
  • Work week: 8-hour shifts 5 days weekly (Monday - Friday)
