Role Purpose

This role is responsible for setting up and oversee the Global Energy Program for the client’s portfolio which comprises of retail, office, and data centres. The idea candidate will understand the clients energy and sustainability goal, create a short term and long term action plan, and work with service providers in the US and Canada to ensure the delivery towards the program goals. In this role, a close collaboration with client’s engineering team as well as service provider is a key component to successful program delivery.

What this job involves

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of all sustainability activities across the client real estate portfolio
• Contribute to the client corporate sustainability strategy and define programmatic approach in achieving energy & carbon goals
• Set up portfolio wide programs and goal, and define major milestones to achieve those goals
• Develop and implement a multi-faceted global energy management strategy.
• Establish strong working relationships with global and regional leads to deliver local targets as well as overarching global targets.
• Collaborating effectively with other JLL service lines on the account (Real Estate, Finance, Projects, FM and procurement) to deliver an integrated energy and sustainability solution to the client.
• Delivering and overseeing other sustainability initiatives, including operational improvements to reduce carbon emissions, resource circularity and sustainable design standards for all construction and fitout projects.
• Effectively tracking and communicating success stories to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement is achieved with regard to the overall energy and sustainability program. 
• Demonstrating innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the client, and ensuring they are rolled out effectively.
• Manage the data collection process for all sustainability related metrics within JLL’s technology platform.
• Collaborate with other JLL global energy managers to share best practices, develop case studies and develop new business opportunities.
• Develop and enhance systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes.
• Act as the subject matter expert to educate and guide key stakeholders on energy and sustainability topics and requests.

Requirements – Essential

• University Degree (Science, engineering, math, or related fields)
• Robust experience reviewing and refining technical and commercial aspects of sustainability upgrades such as working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, building automation systems
• Understanding of Global energy and sustainability initiatives including but not limited to UN Sustainable Development Goals, Science Based Targets, CDP, TCFD
• Strong communication skills – requires both creating content and presenting for a variety of stakeholders form CRE to the business
• Executive Presence – possesses the ability to take a complex energy & sustainability topic and communicate it to an executive audience
• Present as an SME with the ability to dive deep and/or soar high as dictated by the audience. 
• A strategic thinker with capability and experience to work with a wide range of stakeholders in multiple geographies and cultures.
• Experience in developing and enhancing systems and processes for delivering best practice sustainability performance and use of utility/sustainability management systems for monitoring and/or reporting purposes
• Strong ability to analyse corporate portfolio by benchmarking and reviewing utility data to drive sustainability measures  
• Ability to plan and prioritize deadlines and think strategically to identify innovative solutions
• Strong problem-solving skills and experience developing sustainability solutions
• Ability to communicate difficult concepts and negotiate with others to adopt a different point of view
• Ability to lead teams of energy & sustainability professionals 

Requirements – Desirable

• Knowledge and appreciation of energy markets and energy procurement globally
• Ability to travel globally
• Strong project management skills and an ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a high pressure, deadline driven environment
• Experience in the preparation of tenders and work orders and the ability to select appropriate equipment and service vendors
• Knowledge of environmental reporting, utility management and energy budgets, an environmental improvement program, and ISO 14001 compliance.

Estimated compensation for this position is:

145,000.00 – 170,000.00 USD

The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable.  The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
