What we are looking for (Objective):

We are currently seeking a MEP Manager to join our Project and Development Services team in Shenzhen/Guangzhou. To manage all MEP-related activities in plan, design, procurement, construction, testing and commissioning, and final handover. Support project management team to achieve project success.

What this job involves (Accountabilities):

  • Fully understand client’s requirement on MEP, collect MEP requirement and deliver to relevant MEP design institute.
  • Support design manager in MEP related design schedule/plan establishment and design change management.
  • Support contract manager in MEP related procurement and VO management.
  • Support construction manager in MEP related installation, site inspection and MEP related contractor management.
  • Plan and drive MEP reporting meeting with client & relevant government authorities.
  • Plan and drive MEP related workshop or coordination meeting, and lead MEP related design consultant/institute fully coordinate and support other disciplines like arch, structure, landscape, interior, lighting, LEED, acoustic and etc.
  • Lead and manage MEP related design consultant/institute to deliver satisfactory design deliverables within agreed schedule.
  • Manage MEP related contractor for MEP construction and inspect on site, prepare defect list/report and monitor contractor’s rectification;
  • Manage and oversee MEP system testing and commissioning.
  • Manage and lead MEP related design consultant/institute/contractor for LEED supporting if need.
  • Manage MEP final technical handover to client.

Education /Work Experience Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree or above major in MEP Engineering related discipline (Electrical, HVAC).
  • Above 5 years’ project management experience in the delivery of high-tech manufacturing/ industrial/commercial or related construction projects.
  • A strong understanding of all aspects of Development Management including, financial appraisal, risk management, negotiation, etc.

Technical and Administrative Skills

  • Proficient in English, in both oral and writing communications.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word to complete analysis & reports.
  • Well-practiced in creating detail schedule with MS Project or Excel.
  • Well-practiced in Power Point for presentations.
  • Familiar with project related software, like CAD etc.

Business Skills

  • Demonstrate ability to produce MEP project plan and procedures.
  • Set up and update construction schedule with MS Project, Excel and/or other scheduling software.
  • Ability to interpret, coordinates, and discuss construction drawings of MEP disciplines.
  • Good knowledge with electrical engineering, HVAC, BMS.
  • Ability to conduct business development presentation to potential clients in both English and Chinese.
  • Understand the legal environment in contracts and be able to manage the site activities accordingly.
  • Assist the Project Manager as appropriate to carry out commercial negotiations with contractors.
  • Ability to contribute to market analysis and the marketing process.
  • Control, manage and negotiate change orders

  • Motivate site team members.
  • Provide leadership to site team including all contractors.
  • Maintain and cultivate good relationship with client including all stakeholders.
  • Create an environment where all team members are encouraged to contribute.
  • Manage construction team members to achieve enthusiastic and effective contribution to the project.
  • Communicate effectively with entire project team.
