What this job involves – The Shipping and Receiving lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the shipping and receiving department that support client team/operations in the performance of research. Operations can include, but are not limited to, laboratory logistics and management, inventory management, hazardous waste management, shipping and receiving, bulk chemical delivery and gas systems, and laboratory and office moves. This role involves coordinating inbound and outbound shipments, managing inventory, tracking shipments, and ensuring efficient operations. The shipping and receiving lead are required to possess excellent organization and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of logistics and inventory management. Establishes and maintains close liaison with vendors, JLL staff and client to facilitate quality, cost-effective procurement and delivery of research materials.

What is your day to day?  

• Coordinate and oversee all Shipping and Receiving Operations.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with shipping and receiving procedures.
• Identify and resolve any discrepancies or issues related to shipments.
• Own site Shipping and Receiving services including Stockrooms, Shipping and Receiving Floor, Delivery of Packages, International Shipping and other support programs as required.
• Escalate risks throughout the organization appropriately.
• Effectively lead staff by clearly communicating expectations and accountabilities.
• Train, guide, and provide ongoing support to shipping and receiving team members.
• Allocate tasks, set priorities, and monitor performance to achieve department objectives.
• Mentor, develop and train peer and direct report team members.
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficient shipping and receiving procedures.
• Streamline workflows to reduce errors, increase productivity, and minimize costs.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in shipping and logistics.
• May serve as JLL representative during internal and external quality audits under Shipping and Receiving scope as appropriate.
• Any and all other duties assigned.

Monday – Friday, 7 AM – 4 PM

Desired experience and technical skills 

Required

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Three to five years in the pharmaceutical or chemical inventory industry.
• Proficiency in inventory management and shipping software experience.
• Strong knowledge of logistics, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite programs.
• Strong organizational and management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and work both in a team and independently.
• Ability to function effectively in a dynamic work environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills; strong emphasis on customer service.
• Excellent business writing and verbal communications.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Detail oriented.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in logistics or a related field is a plus.
• Previous experience in a shipping and receiving role, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Previous work experience in lab or manufacturing environment, cGMP experience desired.

Estimated compensation for this position is:

55,000.00 – 80,000.00 USD

The pay range listed is a total compensation range including bonus, if applicable.  The provided range is an estimate and not guaranteed. An employment offer is based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.
