The role of a Technical Facilities Manager is to oversee and manage the technical operations and maintenance of facilities within an organization. This role requires a deep understanding of building systems, equipment, and infrastructure, as well as strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

Facility Maintenance: Manage and coordinate all maintenance activities for technical systems, equipment, and infrastructure, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This includes HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, fire protection, and other related systems.

Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the life of systems and equipment. Schedule and oversee routine inspections, maintenance tasks, and repairs.

Vendor Management: Source, evaluate, and manage vendors and contractors for maintenance and repair work. Ensure all vendors comply with safety regulations, contractual agreements, and quality standards.

Budgeting and Cost Management: Develop and manage budgets for maintenance and capital projects. Monitor and control expenses associated with facility operations, equipment, and repairs.

Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to technical systems and facility operations. Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to protect employees, tenants, and visitors.

Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve technical issues, failures, and emergencies. Develop and implement contingency plans to minimize disruptions and ensure continuity of operations.

Energy Management: Monitor and optimize energy usage within the facility by implementing energy efficiency strategies and technologies. Identify opportunities for cost reductions and sustainability initiatives.

Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including property managers, building owners, tenants, and other departments, to ensure effective communication, coordination, and service delivery.

Team Leadership: Supervise and train technical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient and effective operations. Foster a positive work environment and promote professional growth and development.

Asset Management: Maintain accurate records and documentation related to facility systems, equipment, warranties, service agreements, and maintenance history. Develop and implement asset management strategies to maximize the life cycle of equipment and infrastructure.
