Job Description:

The position is within Aerostack GmbH, a Joint Venture between Airbus and an automotive company, part of the Airbus strategy to accelerate Zero Emission Aircraft development and build competences and skills in the technology domain.


In order to support the Testing Team in Taufkirchen/ Ottobrunn, a vacancy for a Senior Fuel Cell Test Means Engineer (d/f/m) has arisen at Aerostack GmbH.


The job holder reports operationally and functionally to the Head of Homologation.


Main Tasks and Accountabilities:

  • Specifying, procuring and building-up test benches in-line with technical requirements

  • Evolve test rigs as per testing needs

  • Manage test rig in configuration

  • Writing Procedure for safe Entry Into Service of new rigs

  • Define and organize test rig maintenance

  • Master test means understanding in terms of capabilities and limitations

  • Support V&V strategy definitions

  • Ensure H&S of testing operations

  • Derive test means requirements from Fuel Cell V&V needs

  • Define the test set-up in the infrastructure & define interfaces

  • Execute testing

  • Specify the test means requirements for procurement of test equipment and parts

  • Develop globally understanding of V&V needs and relevant test means options (inside or outside the JV)

  • Manage and optimized test rig planning

  • Support test engineers and development engineers to analyze test results and show compliance to requirements

  • Manage Documents and archiving of test data together with relevant stakeholders

  • Mapping of testing facilities available

Required Skills:

  • Master’s degree in engineering electrical / mechanical / aerospace or similar domain

  • Several years of experience in specifying, designing, building-up and running fuel cell test benches or similar benches and according tools (e.g. Diadem, Cornerstone, Matlab/Simulink, Labview)

  • Several years of experience in Fuel Cell testing

  • Familiar with the fuel cell stack physical processes and conditions

  • Several years of experience in leading test means development or operation project based on project management principles

  • Pragmatic mindset, fair team player, high level of flexibility

  • Capability to work in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment

  • Fluent professional English & German
