Job Description:
Position Summary: The Director of HR & WP Affiliate Governance ensures robust governance and monitoring across all Airbus Affiliates in the region in relation to HR & WP NA policies, processes and relevant local legislations, minimizing risks and inconsistencies across the network. This position also acts as the focal HR point in the region for Airbus M&A activities. This role also leads,, in close cooperation with the HO HR&WP NA, the management of the Band IV and above talent pipeline across the region, enabling mobility and growth of talents and supporting HO HRs with development opportunities for their leaders. The position also supports the onboarding of leaders into the region with the support of the regional COEs. This position forms relationships and collaborates across the entire Airbus NA HR and Workplace functions in order to deliver value-added HR services when specific subject matter expertise is required. This role is open to work from any Airbus facility in North America.
Primary Responsibilities:
HR & WP Affiliate Governance: 50%
Supports Affiliates with implementing HR and workplace strategies that are fully aligned with the overall NA HR&WP strategy.
Serves as a trusted advisor to Leadership in the region and in the central organizations with regards to all matters of employment laws, HR and Workplace policies and practices and their continuous evolution related to the management of Affiliates and with the support and expertise of regional COEs.
Develops strong partnership with M&A and Affiliate Governance Central Organizations and other enabling functions Affiliate Governance representatives in the region.
Conduct regular meetings with regional Affiliates HR&WP representatives and HO HRs to provide continuous guidance and support new activities when appropriate.
Develop and leverage an effective HR & WP affiliate governance and monitoring framework in strong partnership with HR&WP COEs and HR&WP Data Analytics regional COEs.
Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the Affiliates and HO HRs to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
Ensure regulatory and compliance risks associated with the region and the subject matter of HR and Workplace are fully assessed and mitigated.
In partnership with each Country Employment Lawyer, ensure that the HR policies and processes are compliant with the relevant labor laws and regulations to protect the interests of the business and the employees.
Engage with industry best practice forums and industry benchmarking activities with regards to HR Affiliate governance topics in the region.
Regional Leaders talent management: 30%
Ensures a robust and shared talent pipeline across Airbus NA for Band IV and above Regional Leaders in close partnership with Central TEM functions, NA HO HR&WP and top regional management.
Develop understanding of Regional Leaders capabilities, aspiration and career development opportunities and potential successors to their roles.
Support the development of Individual Development Plans and Career Paths for Regional Leaders.
Maintains a close partnership with regional HO HRs to identify succession pipelines and accelerated developers.
Ensures compliance and on-boarding effectiveness of Regional Leaders into their new roles with particular focus on cultural assimilation, leadership development and regional network development.
Ensures approach, processes and decisions support DE&I Top Company Objectives at the regional level.
Ensure regular reviews with Regional ExCom and their respective HO HRs. Executive Committee Members and CHRO on succession planning and individual development plans for Regional Leaders.
Leads M&A regional HR&WP activities: 20%
Acts as an M&A focal points in the region for all HR&WP aspects of mergers, acquisitions or divestitures activities.
Develops strong partnership with M&A and Affiliate Governance Central Organizations.
Support M&A due diligence process with NA HR&WP specific evaluations.
Ensure regulatory and compliance risks associated with the region and the subject matter of HR and Workplace are fully assessed and mitigated.
Engage with industry best practice forums and industry benchmarking activities with regards to M&A topics in the region.
Additional Responsibilities:
Qualified Experience / Skills / Training:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Advanced degree (MBA or Masters in HRM or related field) preferred.
Experience:
12+ years of experience in HR, legal or related fields required.
Experience supporting Executive level leaders required.
Experience with legal and compliance preferred.
Experience with executive compensation and mobility preferred.
Experience in a complex, matrixed organization preferred.
Past success in a manufacturing/ aerospace environment is preferred.
Licensure/Certifications:
PHR, SPHR or SHRM certifications preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, Demonstrated Capabilities:
Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
Knowledge of the Aerospace industry is preferred.

Fluency in written and spoken English is required, with the ability to influence and direct others.

A second language is preferred (French, German, Spanish, etc.)
Technical Systems Proficiency:
Experience with MS Office or Google Suite programs.
Experience with Workday, ApplicantPro, ADP or similar HCM tools.
Experience with G-suite and other SaaS/cloud-based productivity tools.
Travel Required:
30% Domestic and International.
Decision Making, Complexity
Decision point on regional affiliate HR & WP governance in partnership with appropriate HO HR and COE lead on related matters with legal, compliance and employee relations implications for the company under U.S. and Canadian employment law.
Compliance-related decisions have a high degree of exposure to government / state imposed fines and sanctions.
Decisions must be taken with a high degree of coordination with regional and enterprise level stakeholders, requiring advanced stakeholder-management and negotiation skills.
