Job Description:

Start date: 12th August 2024

Location: Filton (possibly Broughton)

Duration: 12.5 Months

About us: 

Social Policy and Industrial Relations (SPIR) Team sits within the wider UK Commercial HR function. We support the business through providing advice and solutions on Industrial Relations within Airbus; ensuring social dialogue and compliance with labour and social regulations.

For the SPIR Team, no day is the same, we work in a dynamic environment where we support and give Labour law advice on strategic decisions, collaborate and discuss with different Stakeholders and ensure continuous partnership
with the Trade Union.

What you will be doing:

  • You will develop an understanding of Social Policy and Industrial Relations in a transnational company;
  • You will gain knowledge of the Employment Law and see first hand how it drives business operations day to day:

Your typical day may consist of:

  • Supporting grievance and disciplinary procedures;
  • Developing and writing Social Policies;
  • Analysing trends and benchmarking of Employment Policy and Law;
  • Engaging with Trade Union Representatives and key stakeholders on a range of topics.
  • You will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects;
  • You will gain stakeholder management skills working closely with HR Business Partners. Trade Union representatives, and senior management.

Requirements:

Our placements are open to Undergraduates only. Therefore it is mandatory for candidates to be an undergraduate for the whole duration of the placement. Please inform your graduation date on your application.

Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Ideally studying towards a degree in Business/HR/Law;
  • Proficient oral and written communication skills;
  • Good IT Skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Positive and proactive attitude;
  • Beneficial: Interest in Employment Law and Industrial Relations.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check)
