We are looking for a Senior Safety and Reliability Engineer (m/f/d) for space applications to support our Safety Engineering team in Germany. You will ensure that Airbus products are developed and designed according to the relevant standards and that safety objectives are achieved throughout the whole lifecycle.
You are interested in assessing complex functions through Aircrafts and Systems analyses. You are investigating the propagation of potential malfunctions and the resulting repercussions on the aircraft and its occupants and you are defining mitigation means and design precautions.

Your tasks and responsibilities
Performing all required project RAMS tasks at spacecraft system level, subsystem level or equipment level (unmanned and manned spacecraft) autonomously
Interfacing with equipment suppliers: Definition of RAMS requirements in contribution to specifications at equipment level.
Following the relevant design development to check the compliance to the defined requirements
Performing safety assessments at different product maturity stages (safety phases I, II and III)
Performing safety assessments for operations, remove & repair activities
Definition of operational controls/constraints
Create reliability, availability and maintainability analyse
Establishing FMECA, HSIA, fault tree analyses
Establishing Hazard analyses for spacecraft, equipment/instruments as well as for ground support equipment
Co-engineering with FDIR architects (failure detection, isolation and recovery)
Willingness to take on responsibility and train new colleagues
Desired skills and qualifications
You have a completed degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Aerospace Engineering or or comparable course of study
For this position, you bring appropriate knowledge and experience in the above-mentioned areas of responsibility
You have advanced experience in the field of Safety and Reliability Engineering ideally in Aeronautical or Space sector
You have advanced knowledge and experience in un-manned and manned Space Systems
You have profound knowledge of Hazard Analysis and Fault Tree Analysis
You have profound knowledge and experience of Safety processes, regulations and guidelines (ECSS-Q-ST-40C, ARP 4761, ARP 4754A)
You have knowledge and experience with reliability prediction methods (MIL-HDBK-217F, FIDES)
You are target-oriented with strong analytical skills
