COMPLETE Database Administrator (MS SQL) - AIRINA - Bangalore Area

Airbus is looking for a  Technology Analyst - Database (Database Administrator) (m/f) to join in Bangalore, India.

Your main tasks and responsibilities

• As a DB Admin, you will be installing and configuring the SQL Server 2016, 2019, 2022 in Standard or Enterprise Edition with MS DTC  and HA on RHEL or Windows OS

• Drive the strategies to plan and implement Service packs, cumulative update installation and hot fixes

• Collaborating closely with business stakeholders, agile teams, suppliers, 3rd party vendors, and product management to fulfill required DB needs and updates as per industry standards

• Establish, monitor and maintain DB Backup Strategies and Scheduling Backups with the right schedules

• Restore databases from different versions and environments (Dev, Test, QA, Pre-prod, Prod)

• Update and maintain database-specific documentation and upgrades

• Perform admin activities like Monitoring, User Management, creating and scheduling jobs

• Troubleshooting issues like deadlocks, blocks, space issues, connectivity issues, access issues etc.

• Performing activities like DB Mirroring, Log Shipping and Replication and DR activities. Support defining and implementing HA strategies to move into the direction of zero downtime maintenance ops

• Following the SAFe cadence you will be regularly preparing and participating in SAFe events like PI Planning, Inspect and Adapt, and System Demonstrations

• Optimize database performance e.g. by defining Index Strategies

 

Technologies to master

• MS SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 Standard or Enterprise Edition with MS DTC

• SQL Profiler, SSMS

• Backup tools : TSM, LiteSpeed & EMC NetBackup

• ITSM Tools : Servicenow (preferred), BMC Remedy

• Microsoft Certified DBA - highly preferred

Expectation from the Candidate:

• Engineering graduate/post-graduate degree in Computer Science or relevant field with 4-7 years of experience in managing and supporting the MS-SQL database servers

• Experience in Installing and Configuring the SQL Server 

• You gained experience in Service packs, cumulative update installation and hot fixes application strategies

• You have the ability to establish, monitor and maintain DB Backup Strategies and Scheduling Backups with the right schedules

• Experienced in restoring databases from different versions and environments (Dev, Test, QA, Pre-prod, Prod)

• Experienced in Admin activities like User Management, creating and scheduling jobs and troubleshooting issues

• Knows how to monitor database in aspects of space utilization, database errors, deadlocks and SQL Server Error Logs

• Configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting the High Availabilities like DB Mirroring, Log Shipping and Replication and involving in DR activities

• You have a passion for emerging technology and are excited at the prospect of building upon your existing technological knowledge and learning new technological skills

• You have excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to various audiences

• Good to Have : Experience in working in Agile / SAFe methodology

• Good to Have : Oracle

• Language Skills: English
