Team Description
The Maintenance Team at Airbus India utilizes primarily System Engineering and Health engineering competencies.
This team is responsible for defining the maintenance systems of tomorrow for the aircraft, designing the BITE
specifications for the systems, providing the customization mods needed for the aircrafts, and developing
diagnostic and prognostic solutions to improve the maturity of systems by applying machine learning algorithms,
reliability concepts, an adept understanding of aircraft systems and modelling and simulation capabilities. Team
works with both commercial and defense & space ecosystems and is also engaged on Airbus Skywise (the singular
access point to data analytics) utilizing Big Data, Java & Python skills to create data driven models. We are a team
strongly invested on R&T initiatives that is dedicated to supporting future aircraft health needs. This team is part of
Simulation & Physical Systems, a department that works on providing simulations means for most aircraft systems
and industrial needs through the application of systems engineering, MBSE, certification abilities etc

 Job Responsibilities

• We are looking for a Health Engineer who is self-motivated and driven to work with multiple stakeholders in an R&T environment being responsible for:

•  Understanding the technological needs of Landing Gear of Tomorrow team and its extended ecosystem (customers, suppliers, strategic partners etc.).

•  Quickly learning and creating prototypes/concrete solutions that solve the needs and problems identified.

•  Model development of the associated aircraft system so as to achieve the maturity equivalent to a digital twin

•  Implementation of Fault Model and synthesis of simulation results.

•  Calibration & tuning the model parameters based on test rig data/ Flight test data

•  Development of algorithms for diagnosis-fault isolation, detection and prognosis-prediction so as to perform prognostic health monitoring or condition based monitoring for future landing gears.

•  Validation of the model developed.

•  Being flexible to be challenged on one’s ideas and to still drive innovative solutions

•  Networking with other transnational system designers/experts to understand and improve the solution at hand.

•  Validating, Testing and Deploying the innovative solutions developed and documenting the learning in the process

•  Providing project updates on a consistent basis to the various stakeholders involved in the team

•  Research and scout journal papers so as to implement learning basis literature



Required experience & Skills

•  B.Tech./B.E./M.Tech./M.E. in aerospace or related engineering

•  A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Aerospace or related industry

•  Good understanding of aircraft systems preferably Hydraulics or Landing gears

•  Well experienced in simulation, modelling & related tools (Matlab, Simulink, AMESI, etc.).

•  Well experienced in Data Analytics & related tools (Matlab, Python, R, etc.).

•  Knowledge in Model Based Prognostics Tools (Kalman filter, Particle Filter, etc.).

•  Knowledge in Fault injection and development of prognosis model.

•  Awareness of system engineering and Reliability concepts

•  Experienced with at least one of the scripting languages (Python, Java, C etc)

•  Business Proficiency in English

Nice to Have

•  Proficiency in quickly grasping the technical details of different aircraft systems and associating the technology to solve relevant problem statements.

•  Good communicator so as to represent Airbus India as part of the project

•  Self-motivated individual interested in working on data science concepts for aviation industry

•  Entrepreneurial mindset as the candidate is expected to work on innovative topics in R&T environment.

•  Strong team player motivated to collaborate and find synergies

•  Excellent analytical skills and proven ability to solve problems creatively
