Job Description:

Mission summary

The Head of Region Security is in charge of the deployment of the Airbus Corporate Security governance model in all business units and affiliates in the region.

The Head of Region Security liaises with security teams and senior management from all entities and affiliates to ensure that the region is equipped with a robust security organization and that security topics are addressed across the region.

Reporting operationally to the Head of Region, functionally to VA (Corporate Security Chief of Staff) for this role, and with permanent exchanges and close coordination between the affiliates in the region, the divisions and their corporate level, she/he is responsible for:

Cascading Corporate Security’s strategy and overseeing the security organization in the region (escalating security capability needs and/or identifying security capability synergies); Enabling the implementation of the security governance activities (communication of Corporate Security directives & follow-up of proper implementation, security risk reporting and facilitation of security audits) within countries; Identifying the Airbus footprint and security stakeholders in the region, develop and animate a regional security network;

In addition, the person fulfilling this mission is expected to ensure representatives from all legal entities of the region are represented in security decisions that may impact the region as a whole, to federate security actors to ensure sound decisions are made, and to remain informed of security developments and other relevant current events in the region.

Primary responsibilities

1. Security strategy and organization activities:

  • Acting as point of contact to cascade Corporate Security’s strategy relevant country-level stakeholders in the region;
  • Escalating any country-level security staff/resource concerns and identified synergies to the Head of Region and to applicable Corporate Security or divisions security representatives.

2. Security governance activities:

2.1. Security directives:

  • Advocating for Corporate Security directives, methods, standards and processes to relevant country-level points of contact;
  • Monitoring compliance to Corporate Security directives and ensuring follow-up in collaboration with Corporate Security stakeholders.

2.2. Security risks:

  • Collecting and consolidating all security risks in the region and reporting them to Corporate representatives for all Airbus assets (V or divisions Corporate teams).

2.3. Security audits:

  • Collecting and communicating security audit needs and priorities for the region;
  • Facilitating introductions between Corporate Security auditors and their relevant country security counterparts for the execution of security audits.

3. Network animation activities:

  • Identifying Airbus security footprint in the region;
  • Identifying the stakeholders involved in security activities in the region;
  • Creating and animating a formal and transverse network in order to exchange on security topics within the region by setting up and leading regular Regional Security Network meetings for discussion (cascading of information, gathering feedback or needs escalation, animating debate on relevant matter, consulting before decision-making, etc.);
  • Ensuring that appropriate recommendations are made, security decisions are taken and senior management is involved in security matters within the Regional Security Steering Committee;

Nature of the role

The mission is a central security role in the region consolidating security needs and activities in Airbus’s region perimeter. It requires a high level of autonomy, excellent communication and strong leadership skills, as well as the ability to manage multiple relationships at once.

Information flows

This mission includes regular and fluid communication with the Head of Region, the Corporate Security Chief of Staff (VA), the Divisional Security Corporate level, country-level security representatives.

Communication with the Head of Region includes discussions on the following topics:

  • Reporting on main security activities, consolidation of security audits and security risk pictures;
  • Escalation of key security risks to decision-makers.

Communication with the Corporate Security Chief of Staff (VA) includes discussions on the following topics:

  • Corporate Security’s strategy;
  • Consolidated information and specifications on security governance activities at the regional level;
    • Consolidated feedback at the regional level on security directives deployment;
    • Updated risk picture for the region;
    • Needs and priorities for security audits and the consolidated requests for audits;
  • Potential needs for additional information exchanges with other security stakeholders (including but not limited to: VO, VC, VG, AH security, AD security).

Communication with the Divisional Security Corporate level includes discussions on the following topics:

  • Support for the security strategy implementation for the region;
  • Support for the implementation of security governance;
  • Support in the promotion of strategical audit requests for the divisions in the region;
  • Support in the identification of potential synergies between sites.

Communication with country-level security representatives includes discussions on the following topics:

  • Corporate Security directives and their deployment within the countries;
  • Security audit requests, priorities and results;
  • Security risk reporting activities, methods, templates and accelerators, as well as creation of the regional risk picture for all Airbus assets;
  • Participation in the regional security instances.

Mission dimensions, contributions to success

The mission is hosted at the regional level and the role is spanned across all divisions of the Company. It contributes to the Company’s stance on security toward national security authorities, airworthiness authorities and customers. The mission contributes to the definition of security measures applicable to the range of the Airbus security asset portfolio (people and workplace, information management, industrial products and services assets).
