The position holder is responsible for the development and implementation of the Medical Affairs strategy and tactics in relation to patient advocacy groups (PAG) in pipeline therapy areas and providing expert advice on the same within the business. This role reports to the Head of Medical Affairs Germany, Austria & Emerging Europe.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of medical affairs strategy in PAG relationships and supporting these across the affiliate business
  • Provide Medical Affairs expertise and leadership in relation to PAG relationships and supporting the cross-functional business teams.
  • Work closely with Head of Medical Affairs and Market Access to develop and execute strategic and operational/tactical plan within existing and new therapy areas.
  • Work with market access and PAGA to understand present external landscape and support development of a positive healthcare environment for pipeline products
  • Develop and maintain scientific relationships with Key Opinion Leaders to build customer insight
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of product literature and publications (and competitor) relevant to therapy areas
  • Ensure Medical Affairs activities (Medical Information/Pharmacovigilance/promotional material & activities) all comply with the relevant CSL Behring Germany and CSL global SOPs, policies and quality systems as appropriate.
  • Establishes annual medical affairs budgets for assigned area of responsibility and actively manages & monitors periodic financial medical affairs forecasts
  • Work closely with EU Medical Affairs, Global TA Medical Affairs, and global Research & Development to coordinate and successfully implement local medical affairs activities.
  • Contribute to the development of and periodically review of relevant SOPs. Maintain SOPs owned by position holder. Completion of self-required training and maintenance of personal training records.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Medicine (preferably MD or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
  • Advantage:o Experience in working with patient advocacy groups and/or Medical Affairso Experience in one of CSL's therapeutic areas (i.e., immunology, coagulation, respiratory, etc.)
  • Language skills: Fluent in German (required), fluent in English (required)
  • Willingness to travel on business (required)

The role can be filled in full time or on a part time basis. Please note: this is a fixed-term role due to a maternity leave coverage.
