Responsibilities:

The Director of Global Health Economics and Outcomes Research (HEOR) for the Cardiovascular & Metabolism (CVM) Therapeutic Area (TA) is responsible for the development and execution of Patient Access and Economic Value strategies and tactics across the TA.

Lead the development of the global value proposition for the CVM pre-launch and pipeline products.  Develop and lead the health economic value creation plans, and real-world evidence strategies and activities. This role will lead global cross-functional activities in collaboration with clinical development, epidemiology, pricing, marketing, medical, policy/advocacy, and collaborate closely with regional/local HEOR and access leads.

This role will influence the clinical development program to ensure that the patient perspective as well as the payer, and health economic requirements are addressed, and relevant outcomes parameter are included in clinical trial programs.

The Director of Global HEOR will ensure development and timely roll-out of the necessary evidence and value tools including, but not limited to, the Global Value Story, and associated messages, the Global Value Dossier, different types of economic models. In alignment with the global pricing and brand strategy, support optimal differentiation, and value maximization.

Having a pivotal role in designing, substantiating, and executing innovative value-based contracting concepts, including roll-out to and training of the regional/local teams.  Initiate and lead market research projects as well as advisory boards and drive internal and external value communication publications.

This role requires monitoring of HTA guidelines, competitors value communication and reimbursement requirements in key markets to ensure state-of-the-art value substantiation and evidence generation.

This position provides HEOR leadership in Evidence and Access Strategy Teams (EAST) and serve as the HEOR expert within their TA in both internal and external meetings including with government agencies, policy makers, customer, patient representatives and payers, as appropriate. 

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in business, health policy, health economics, life sciences or healthcare discipline, MBA preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience including significant HEOR at local, regional and / or global levels.  

  • Demonstrated understanding of product value creation, product differentiation, reimbursement pathways in key countries and knowledge of relevant legal, compliance and regulatory requirements.

  • In-depth understanding of cost-effectiveness, budget impact assessments and HTA requirements in US and key European markets. Proven success in preparation and roll-out of global or local Value Dossiers and RWE generation.

  • Working knowledge of epidemiology and biostatistics is a plus.
