We are looking within our Medical Excellence Team to appoint a Head of Medical Information and Library Services, including the full oversight of Global Medical Information (MI), management of the MI vendor and outsourced team. In this role you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Global brand teams, affiliates, partners and vendors. We are offering a flexible and hybrid working model.

You have a proven background in Medical Information and experience with strategic Medical Affairs activities on a global or regional level. Strong leadership skills, collaboration with cross-functional teams and MI vendors are highly desirable. Key to this role is experience in digital innovation within Medical Affairs as well as proven expertise in generating scientific insights.

Success Metrics

• Establishment and Maintenance of Medical Information Service including functional, compliant database.

• Quality, consistency and effective management of medical information enquiries.

• Global Key Information Documents (GKIDS) in place and regularly updated

• Compliance with regulations, codes, policies, instructions and service level agreements.

• Continuously evolve medical information based on trends and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic direction for the Global Medical Information function and ensuring integration within the business.

• Ensure the running of a compliant, accurate, fair and balanced medical information service within Vifor Pharma.

• Ensure the provision of up-to-date high quality and relevant medical, technical and pharmaceutical information on Vifor Pharma designated products to external and internal customers.

• Develop in depth knowledge on assigned products and provide advice as required.

• Identify and refer appropriate safety/PQC related enquiries to GDS/GQA.

• Ensure that the Procedural documents reflect best practice and accurately document Medical Information responsibilities.

• Ensure the smooth and compliant running of a library or bibliography service for the provision of literature support for Vifor Pharma.

• Awareness of the legal and ethical issues affecting the provision of medical information in the different markets serviced.

• Understand and manage the expectations of customers and derive business value from appropriate customer contacts.

• Medical Lead for assessment of the Benefit /Risk profile for the ex-FMC nephrology products.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

• Degree in science, pharmacy, pharmacology or related field

• Minimum 4 years' experience in Medical Information/ Medical Affairs preferably at affiliate as well as HQ level

• Demonstrated ability to accurately and effectively evaluate medical scientific literature

• Professional level in English, both in oral and written communications

• Experience of working in a customer focused environment

• Awareness of the legal and ethical issues affecting the provision of information in the different markets served.

Preferred Requirements

• Doctoral level degree (MD, PhD or PharmD)

• Two or more years leading a Medical Information/ Medical Affairs department

• Experience working with pharmacovigilance and drug safety

• Demonstrated working experience in a cross-functional matrix environment
