Job Summary

Under general supervision, responsible for carrying out supply expense management initiatives and utilizing value analysis process on total annual spend amounts. Identifies and implements strategies to drive system standards, product quality and cost containment while reducing variation. Participates in the value analysis process to provide high quality, efficient and cost-effective products and services. Utilizes organization's methodology for analyzing product/service selection, utilization and costs.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate cost saving initiatives with Sourcing Specialists, financial analysts and managers/directors
  • Within assigned service lines, manages Value Analysis Team (VAT) product request process, product trials and product implementation. May manage service lines' Patient Specific Requests (PSRs).
  • Owner of implementation/conversion process, coordinates with interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth integration of new products/processes including any pre-implementation trials
  • Leads VAT team through identification of product value when considering efficacy, quality, safety and cost
  • Works with physicians and other clinicians to identify approved products in support of existing Product Formulary and new requests
  • Handles in-the-moment product concerns (i.e. Joint Commission inquiries, product safety concerns, recalls/substitutions, etc.)
  • Advocates and ensures a voice for the end user considering all internal stakeholders while contributing to the overall maturity of Value Analysis at Spectrum Health
  • Responsible for the coordination, facilitation, preparation and execution of VAT meetings within assigned service line(s)

Qualifications

  • Required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Nursing
  • 2 years of relevant experience in supply chain management or clinical registered nurse experience Required
  • Previous project management experience Required
  • LIC-Registered Nurse (RN) - State of Michigan Upon Hire preferred
